Insight: Comedy and Fashion

The latest Insight show features two talented women from El Segundo. The first story is about Kelsey Durkin. She’s a stand up comedian. You’ll find out that making people laugh takes a lot of hard work. How does Kelsey manage to balance being a mother of two and a wife to a former professional football player? She also works a full-time job. That’s a lot to have on your plate! You’ll hear Kelsey talk about her hopes, dreams, and fears. I hope you’ll get to know Kelsey as well as I did during our interview.

The second feature is on local fashion designer Mariesa Irene Franco. If you ever wondered what you have to do to work in the glamorous world of fashion, you’ll want to watch this segment. Mariesa is well on her way; she’s already designing for some well-known people. Plus, during our on-set interview, Mariesa tells Jennifer and I what the latest trends are for the season! It’s all on Insight…just click HERE to watch.

Enjoy!

Business Matters: Vintage Canvas

Michelle at work at Vintage Canvas as owner, Linda Pack, oversees

Recently, my boss and I went to Vintage Canvas on W. Grand Avenue to shoot a segment for El Segundo TV’s Business Matters show.

If you haven’t been to Vintage Canvas then you’re missing out. Owned and operated by former attorney and administrative law judge Linda Pack, Vintage Canvas offers the ultimate painting experience.

Anyone at any skill level can sign up for a group class. An instructor then shows everyone how to create a painting – step by step. The painting for the night: Paris. I was especially excited about this because I recently returned from this beautiful city.

Sitting in the class made me think of painting amongst the artists of Montmartre in the 18th district of Paris. Linda even played music appropriate for the evening’s project. I got so lost in my painting that I almost forgot I was working.

“It’s all about the experience,” Linda emphasized.

Look for the segment on Vintage Canvas and see how my painting turned out in an upcoming Business Matters! In the meantime, you might want to check out Vintage Canvas for yourself. http://www.vintagecanvas.net/
